How blessed we are to have the family we have. This is the last Wednesday Wardrobe of the year, I will be making a WW book on shutterfly and will send out a link for you to order one if you'd like.
This has been a huge year in our lives with lots of changes. I am ever amazed at the difference a year can make!! Aurora has grown 3 inches taller since this time last year, & has turned into an independent little girl full of questions and opinions. I am so happy to have been able to share this year of growth, development, and experiences with those of you that have chosen to be with us through this year and the years to come.
Thank you, and merry Christmas with a happy new year!!!!

Wednesday Wardrobe - fun with dogs
Fun with the Dogs - Wednesday, 21 December 2011
Guest Post by John Mabes
As I'm sure it has been all over the South, the weather has been completely insane down in LA.
Because of this Rorie decided to wear her ca-pries seeing as "It's just as hot as the summer, Daddy."
And to further take advantage of the good weather we gave the dogs a bath. After which, Rorie and the dogs became even further inseparable and played all-day around the house....most of the games involving them either being "those stinking hyenas" or getting eaten by an Aurorasaurus.

Holly Jolly Holidays!
Check out some fun holiday videos from Aurora and her singing fantasticness on the youtube page.!!
She sings songs like roudolph, jingle bells, and Santa is coming to town - along with special additions like: "you better be good or I won't care!"
I asked Aurora, "This letter says it came from the North Pole. Who lives at the North Pole?" and she said "Santa!! I got a letter from Santa!!" and we opened it up, the letter congratulates her for learning to write her name, adn knowing all her letters - and told her that she would be getting a golden ring for Christmas. It also had a package of 'magic reindeer food' for us to put out before Christmas.

We stopped to visit with Santa at NASA's Space and Rocket Center. She let him know that she wanted a golden ring for her Pinky Finger. |
Of course NASA has a sleigh with lots of buttons! |
They had a trough of fake snow set out to play with. |

Wednesday Wardrobe
Aurora is wearing her T-Rex shirt today. It's going to be in the 70s here so this light long sleeved shirt is just right! Plus it's hilarious!

Wednesday wardrobe
Aurora is sporting some cuddle duds on this frigid morning. There is ice on the cars and ice on the roads and ice in the yard! So we bundled up today...

Wednesday Wardrobe
It's getting colder out here, it even snowed yesterday. Aurora chose black pants and a grey shirt like I am wearing today! We topped that with her fur lined coat and a scarf.

Beginning to look a lot like Christmas!
We got out the Christmas decorations this weekend! Aurora and I looked through our ornaments and I told her the stories about each on, where we were, who we were with and what we were doing. The first ornament of the year was this one from London. I told her about the horse at the palace and the sign that warned that they may bite. I told her abouthte red phone booths, and the cars that drove on the wrong side of the road.
First Ornament of the Year - London |
Aurora hung the first ornament of the year, and we kept on decorating and telling stories and laughing.
Hanging the first Ornament |
As the ornaments needed to go higher, I helped Aurora reach the top. |
I topped the tree with my Smores topper this year, I love those little charachters! |

Kid's tree |
We set up a little kid's tree too, this one is decorated in all the ornaments and tree topper from Germany. I wasn't sure I would like the straw decorations, but they are really nice! We are trying a new tradition this year - we are wrapping all our Christmas themed books and putting them under the tree - then each night we will open a new book and read it! how fun!
Our mantel looks beautiful! you can't tell it in the photos but there are snowflake lights all in the garland, and I have added stockings already! I think I love the decorating part of the holidays most of all! Now to wrap and add presents!
Giving Thanks

Aurora helped set the table for our Thanksgiving dinner. We had the grown up table and the kids table. Our dinner was a great feast of turkey, ham, twice baked potato casserole, sweet potato casserole, green bean casserole, and rolls. the kids all enjoyed their dinner, and the pie that came after.
